Job description

In SRI's Artificial Intelligence Center (AIC) our researchers work together and across disciplines to deliver on the promise of AI. We are pushing technical boundaries to create leading-edge technologies and we are exploring their ethical deployment across a broad range of application areas.
AIC is looking for a motivated research and engineering intern to work on a project that will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) for user modeling, guiding the retrieval and dissemination process of a knowledge management system. The internship will involve working closely with SRI staff and other partners on the project, providing hands-on exposure to developing systems that interact with real users, state-of-the-art AI techniques and an opportunity to publish results from the work developed during the internship.
The intern can either work remotely or a hybrid/onsite schedule if close to the Menlo Park, CA office.
The salary range is: $30-$45/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
