Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for all activities associated with the setup, testing, and validation of AEO gas turbine engines within the Production Engine Test Operations (PETO) department. Through the guidelines set forth in the Test Data Folder, they will analyze performance metrics against customer requirements to verify product quality for LM2500, LM600, and LMS100 engine models. Additionally, Test Engineers are required to ensure the safety and performance of PETO test cells and the continuous improvement of test-related processes. As a Test Engineer, you run the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and validate that customer receives a top-quality product.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate test activities with 2nd shift PETO team, including hourly Testers and Data System Technicians to perform engine assessments in compliance with the Test Data Folder.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems that may prevent successful testing- including situations where engine, facility, and/or data systems are not conforming.
- Communicate operational progress and risks based on Standard Work procedures and accurate issue tracking.
- Constantly expand technical knowledge to better analyze data, diagnose facility/engine issues, implement lean methodologies, and mitigate risk.
- Manage improvement projects that lead to increased safety, reduced cycle time, and waste elimination through facility upgrades, process improvement, and enhanced training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
