Role: Electrical Engineer I
Location: Sylmar, CA - 91342
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
- Shall plan and conduct evaluation(s) needed to ensure alternate electronic components meet system level requirements/specifications in support of regulatory submissions for our pacemaker, implantable defibrillator, and cardiac monitor product lines.
- Authoring test plans and reports into Windchill system on schedule, according to policies, and R&D documentation best practices
- Statistical analysis of experimental results against production data, to ensure the new component will not affect production yields by using Minitab, Excel, Etc.
- Operate custom test stations, with training, for ATE, EMI, and MRI coverage.
- Interface with R&D and other FTEs as needed to learn circuit functions for given component, and perform other duties as needed.
- Testing, and data collection of discreet components using impedance analyzers, LCR meters, micro ohm meters, etc.
- Testing, and data collection of assembled circuits at various stages of manufacture, using test cables and fixtures, with oscilloscopes, DMM's, SMU's, power analyzers, temperature chambers, Etc.
- Attending and conducting meetings to support the evaluations, and maintaining strong lines of communication with team members, stake holders, and internal/external customers. Confident in Microsoft Office products, authoring power point slides for example to present during meetings, setting up/conducting meetings to take ownership of the evaluation.
- Completes system, analog, digital, and firmware designs. This includes setting and revising requirements and specifications, debugging, testing electrical circuits and systems, and completing documentation to ensure feasibility and verifiability of performance.
Skills:
- Electrical simulation of component performance in circuit for sensitivity analysis, monte carlo, etc., using PSpice; Hyperlinx, Matlab, etc.
- Test equipment automation, or other SW coding using Labview, C++, Python, or other SW platforms.
- Fabrication skills Soldering through hole to SMT, using hand tools, using power tools/bench tools (grinder, sander, drill press, etc.), 3D printers.
- Experience/training in design controls, risk management, CAPA, 6M activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 3 years Relevant work experience in testing, designing, trouble shooting, of printed circuit boards, finished electrical products, fixtures and tools.
- Personal computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, database management, and specialized applications. Advanced credential or professional certification in a relevant discipline/concentration desired.
- Six-Sigma knowledge and experience desired.
- Training and experience in manufacturing processes and methods desired, especially in the manufacturing of medical devices.
