The Information Technology team is looking for an intern who will participate with enthusiasm in all phases of design, development, and testing. This intern will provide additional support to our Senior Developers by assisting with development for various lines of business applications and business processes used at Valmark.

Job Summary:

The Support Developer Intern is responsible for enhancing existing solutions to achieve business objectives. These objectives range from operational efficiency to external client facing solutions. This intern will contribute to the development of high-quality, maintainable code and will focus on applying knowledge in languages such as SQL and C#.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Write and debug code for new software applications under the guidance of senior developers
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure quality standards are met
• Test software applications and patches to ensure functionality and reliability
• Investigate and troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues
• Assist in the development of software documentation
• Interact with business units to maintain solutions that meet business objectives
• Modify existing data feeds that require changes

Requirements:

Must be currently enrolled in college seeking a degree in Technology and be available to commit 15-25 hours per week during the spring/fall semester and 30-40 hours per week during summer months.
