Meissner Sewing & Vacuum Centers is seeking a dynamic and adaptable Sales Manager to join our passionate team in Sacramento, CA. The ideal candidate will lead by example, fostering a culture of flexibility, creativity, and continuous learning within our organization. As a Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales initiatives, developing strategies to enhance customer engagement, and expanding our presence in the sewing and craft industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership and Flexibility:
- Lead and inspire the sales team by example, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable approach to challenges.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
2. Sales Strategy & Hands-On Leadership:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and industry dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
- Drive the development and execution of sales plans, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Lead the sales team by actively participating in selling products, setting the standard for excellence in customer interactions.
- Work closely with team members to provide hands-on guidance, sharing effective sales techniques and strategies.
- Actively engage with customers on the sales floor and online, demonstrating product knowledge and fostering a positive shopping experience.
- Monitor individual and team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted training initiatives.
- Collaborate with the sales team to set and achieve individual and collective sales goals, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
3. Customer Engagement & Issue Resolution
- Proactively address customer concerns, including handling complaints and troubleshooting issues to ensure swift and satisfactory resolutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective solutions that meet both customer needs and company objectives.
- Communicate transparently with customers, providing clear explanations of troubleshooting processes and potential outcomes.
- Implement customer-centric initiatives to prevent recurring issues, fostering long-term customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline internal processes and enhance overall customer experience.
4. E-commerce Sales Support and Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop strategies for offloading inventory both in brick-and-mortar stores and online.
- Provide support for e-commerce sales initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with in-store activities.
- Analyze e-commerce sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Work closely with the marketing team to implement effective online promotions, optimizing product visibility and driving sales.
- Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns that align with overall inventory goals.
5. Industry Knowledge:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the sewing and craft industry, staying informed about trends, innovations, and competitor activities.
- Train and educate the sales team on product knowledge, industry trends, and customer preferences.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing insights and recommendations to drive business growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the retail industry.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Passion for and knowledge of the sewing and craft industry is a definite plus.
- Willingness to lead by example, actively participating in tasks when necessary, and demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Possess a strong work ethic, with the determination to do whatever it takes to ensure successful and timely completion of tasks.
