Manatee Physician Alliance LLC is a Medical Group that has 18 practice medical offices located in 1 state 3 cities in the USA. There are 45 health care providers, specializing in Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Nurse Practitioner, General Surgery, Hospice/Palliative Care, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Family Practice and more, being reported as members of the medical group. Medical taxonomies which are covered by Manatee Physician Alliance LLC include Surgical, Emergency Medicine, Student in an Organized Health Care Education/Training Program, Specialist, Psychiatry, Adult Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Family, General Practice, Surgery and many more
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include a ssisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. QualificationsEducation :
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six (6) months of employment
Current BLS/CPR certification required
Work experience :
Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant
Familiarity with medical terminology required
Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol)
Knowledge :
General medical office procedures
Understand end of day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol)
Skills :
Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Abilities:
Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions
Equipment Operated:
Office equipment such as fax machine, copier and telephone system
EKG machine, other patient care testing
Work environment :
Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment
May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases
May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
Occasionally subject to irregular hours
May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary
Mental/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain calm and focused in an emergency situation
Must be able to see with corrective eye wear
Must be able to hear clearly with assistance
