Job Summary Job Summary
Samuel Jackman School had the distinction of having been named 26 years before the school was built. The original Elk Grove School Names Committee of 1965 selected Professor Jackman as a person for whom a school ought to be named. He had been the superintendent of schools in Sacramento County in the 1870s and was a leading figure in educational circles of the late 1800s. We are proud of our work at Samuel Jackman Middle School! Not only do we place a strong emphasis in our core subjects, but we also offer students opportunities to participate in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), Pre-Engineering, Video Production, Band, Computer Technology, Student Leadership, Health Technology, PBIS, and a robust after-school ASES program. Samuel Jackman Middle School provides a nurturing school environment with a special emphasis placed on academic achievement. The school offers diversified curricular and extracurricular programs, which feature a wide variety of student activities designed to support the unique needs of middle school students. These opportunities promote high student engagement, critical thinking, social interaction, and a quality learning experience for ALL students.
