Senior Pega Developer
Richmond, VA (100% Remote, EST and CST states will be prioritized)
8+ months Contract

Bill Rate: $72
Pay Rate: $54 W2
Required Skills: Senior Pega Developer - no architects, fully hands on Experience communicating with internal business teams and stakeholders
Additional Skills: .net or java experience. Certifications within the last 3-4 years
A Pega Developer specializes in designing and developing applications using the Pega Platform, an innovative tool for rapid application development from Pegasystems. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration to meet business needs efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Create robust, scalable Pega applications by translating complex business requirements into functional software. This involves designing data models, workflows, and user interfaces using Pega's low-code development environment.
- Application Configuration and Integration: Configure Pega solutions according to specified requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and databases. This may include setting up decision rules, data pages, and connecting APIs.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply optimizations to ensure high efficiency and reliability.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of developed applications, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing. Debug issues and implement fixes to ensure applications meet quality standards.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to align development activities with business objectives. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for Pega applications, including upgrades and patches.
- Best Practices and Standards: Adhere to best practices in Pega development and stay updated on Pega technologies and updates. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of development standards and guidelines.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for developed applications, including technical specifications, design documents, and user guides.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Certification in Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) or Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience in developing applications using Pega PRPC (PegaRULES Process Commander). Familiarity with Pega's Direct Capture Objectives (DCO) methodology.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, database models, and web technologies. Knowledge of Java, SQL, and XML is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex business processes and design effective solutions.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
