We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to become a member of a growing team that provides technical leadership within R&D and an interdisciplinary team. This individual will work on new projects from concept to commercialization and be responsible for solving engineering problems, designing components of the system, and supporting testing and troubleshooting of the system design.
Your Responsibilities:
Design, develop, debug, and test mixed signal electronic circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
Solve engineering problems and recommend corrective or alternative actions.
Participate in the conception, architecture and development of next generation mapping and navigation system components and accessory boxes.
Assist with industry-based standards testing such as Safety and EMC according to IEC 60601.
Generate documentation of new designs, design changes, development activities, evaluations, and rationales.
Support Manufacturing in troubleshooting operations involving medical devices through assembly and test
Minimum Qualifications
BSEE + 5 years of experience, MS + 2 years (or equivalent)
Experience designing mixed signal electrical circuits (including component selection, schematic capture, and circuit board layout)
Familiarity with analog design for low-level signal acquisition. Candidate should have a basic understanding of common noise sources and real-world design limitations.
Experience evaluating and selecting components, based on system and design specifications.
Expertise in laboratory troubleshooting techniques, including proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related equipment.
Strong technical background with a desire to learn new technologies.
Strong communication and time management abilities.
Excellent people skills to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
Confident working independently to complete tasks and troubleshoot issues with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing electrical circuits for medical devices
Understanding of FPGA and Firmware development
Experience with technical report writing.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art PCB fabrication technology (SMT, BGA, blind and buried micro via, flex circuits, etc.) and assembly.
Proficient with OrCAD and/or Altium schematic capture and layout tools
Experience providing technical assistance to other functional departments such as Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, Reliability and Manufacturing
