Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$65,800.00 – $108,500.00

What Is the Opportunity?
InsuraMatch is a national independent agency company, owned by Travelers Insurance, has launched a new business division focusing on commercial lines E&S business. The new venture has become a focus of the agency as it seeks to diversify its business operations and help advance key strategic objectives of Travelers. As a Wholesale/E&S Commercial Lines Underwriter you will be primarily responsible for handling and evaluating individual commercial lines risk applications. You will work with submitting Retail Agents to ensure the application is complete before evaluating its acceptability as per our carriers’ underwriting guidelines and rating the risk.
What Will You Do?
- Review applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control consultants and other information to determine if a Commercial Lines risk is acceptable for the program(s) available.
- Evaluate the experience of a risk against the class of business under review.
- Evaluate the loss potential due to catastrophe, severity, and/or frequency.
- Evaluate policies for renewal consideration and recommend appropriate price or coverage adjustments based on prior policy experience.
- Request additional documentation necessary for the processing of an application, endorsement or cancellation.
- Ensure applications are complete and include all compliance-related forms and disclosures prior to policy issuance.
- Conduct On-site marketing visits and system training, as required, at our agents’ offices.
- Coach and guide Associate UW as needed.
- Rate policies efficiently, accurately, and within the guidelines of the available program(s)
- Utilize publicly available knowledge to evaluate risk.
- Prepare premium quotations for new business risk submissions.
- Review requests for policy cancellations, endorsements, and reinstatements.
- Promptly address inquiries from agents, policyholder, or prospects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- 5 plus years of current Commercial Lines Experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable Insurance Department regulations and policies is required.
- Insurance Industry designations are preferred.
- A valid Producer’s License in home state is preferred.
What is a Must Have?
- 2 years of demonstrated experience in Commercial Lines underwriting practices and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance coverage forms and their application.
