Are you ready to lead the charge in developing groundbreaking therapies? We're seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive/VP Medical Director to join our team in sunny San Diego, CA! As a key member of our team, you'll be at the forefront of driving clinical development strategies and leading innovative programs aimed at addressing unmet medical needs. You'll work closely with our VP of Clinical Development and other talented individuals to design and execute clinical trials, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company objectives.

What You'll Do:

Lead the development and execution of clinical plans to advance our programs through various stages of clinical studies.
Serve as the primary representative for our clinical and medical strategy, both internally and externally.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination of designated clinical studies.
Provide strategic input on new indications and opportunities for our evolving portfolio of therapies.
Work hand-in-hand with our discovery team to identify novel targets for future development.
Prepare and/or facilitate the creation of essential clinical project management documents, including study protocols and safety plans.
Oversee the operational aspects of assigned clinical studies, including the selection and management of clinical investigators and vendors.
Review and approve monitoring reports and follow-up letters, ensuring compliance with protocols.
Plan and review the analysis of clinical data, driving the interpretation of results.
Maintain "audit-ready" status for assigned trials and address audit observations promptly.
Develop and manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
Provide medical and scientific expertise to study teams and key stakeholders.
Anticipate industry trends and factors that may impact the clinical and commercial success of our products.
Serve as the principal medical monitor, overseeing safety monitoring in our clinical development programs.
Cultivate strong collaborations with key opinion leaders, investigators, and corporate partners.
Collaborate with business development and senior leadership to identify strategic alliances and partnership opportunities.
Engage and inspire the project and clinical development team, communicating our strategic vision and operational plan.
What You'll Need:

MD degree and US medical license, with 13+ years of clinical drug development experience.
Expertise in the research and development of novel biologics, particularly within the field of inflammation.
Preferably, expertise in rheumatoid arthritis or related diseases.
Extensive academic and pharma collaborative network, with a history of personal interaction with thought leaders.
Track record of program leadership, collaboration, and team leadership.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Firm understanding of the mechanistic basis of human inflammatory disorders.
Thorough knowledge of clinical protocols, regulatory processes, and FDA requirements.
Demonstrated success in driving a vision and strategy for therapeutic areas/products.
Ability to think globally, strategically, and innovatively about the future of our products and the pharmaceutical industry.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, you'll mainly be sitting and engaging in discussions.
Occasional standing, walking, and lifting may be required.
Work Environment:

This role will primarily be based in an office environment, with moderate noise levels.
Travel domestically and internationally may be required up to 15% of the time.
