Location: Dearborn, MI
Salary: $84,477.00 - $130,940/yr.
JOB SUMMARY The EV Application Development Manager provides strategic and operational lead for the development, launch and management of application specific EV related programs for OEM LoB. Responsibility to coordinate cross-functional actions with internal and external stakeholders. This position serves as a crucial bridge, ensuring seamless integration and efficient delivery of electric vehicle (EV) application solutions that cater to various OEM customer sales channels.
Essential Responsibilities: - Technology Leadership: Remain up to date with advancements in electric vehicle technology creating business growth opportunities by driving customer solutions through use of technology and innovation.
- Application Definition & Control: Lead efforts in defining product specifications, application development and oversee possible changes to product design and features as required for any given customer project.
- Commercial Coordination: Assist the Sales team and PMO in managing commercial aspects of projects while coordinating with other OEM Component Sales (OEM) departments and other OEM stakeholders.
- Budget Management: Develop and oversee budgets for engineering projects, focusing on delivering high ROI and cost-efficiency. Works very closely with OEM PMO and assigned project specific program manager.
- Internal / External Customer Liaison: Serve as the chief liaison between OEM Model E & OEM Pro Engineering Groups, OEM Component Sales and external OEM customers ensuring seamless communication as to definition of project SOW and project alignment R & Rs between OEM, OEM and external customers.
- Application Engineering Planning: Develop and execute application engineering plans that cater to both OEM LoB needs and external customer requirements. Work very closely with OEM business development teams in establishing EV business growth opportunities.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance between OEM, OEM and external customer development teams to ensure alignment with both company objectives, project goals and industry standards.
- Data Analysis: Gather and document the unique needs of electric vehicle users and stakeholders to enable benchmarking baselines for various common product applications.
- Lead, mentor, and manage OEM EV Application Development along with fostering a productive and collaborative work environment across various OEM LoBs and department personnel.
- Collaborate with OEM leadership to align electric vehicle application development goals with OEM's overall strategic objectives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: - A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or closely related discipline.
- Advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of automotive engineering related work experience.
- Advanced understanding of electric vehicle technology, software tools, and industry-standard engineering practices.
- In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing automotive engineering and electric vehicles.
- Leadership skills with a take action mentality.
