PAVING FOREMAN (ASPHALT)

Sunshine Enterprise USA is proud to represent a leading player in the asphalt and concrete construction industry in Central Florida currently seeking selfmotivated experienced Paving Foreman who will provide overall support directly to the Paving Operation and ensures that projects are completed in a safe manner with quality and productive results by supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in spreading rolling tamping and patching asphalt or similar material to form surfaces of highways streets parking lots aircraft landing strips and driveways.

Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.

Maintain good health with the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and perform physical tasks.

Contact Superintendent at least 2 hours before the designated start time if sick

Arrive onsite 30 minutes prior to the start time.

Review project readiness with Superintendent confirming equipment and site preparation.

Exchange contact information with Project Personnel

Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members Project Superintendent and Owner

Conduct Weekly Toolbox Talks and submit to the Safety Department

Supervise and coordinate activities for all team members.

Monitor Paving Operations for depth yield cross slope and density compliance.

Ensure crew and trucks operate efficiently determining asphalt tonnage and mix type.

Calculate the required number of trucks and fill out daily trucking reports.

Obtain approval for Change Orders or Extra Work from the Project Manager

Maintain and clean assigned equipment reporting necessary repairs promptly.

Park equipment safely following clear zone requirements and using Type 2 barricades if needed.

Address team member issues by suspending and discussing with the Operations Manager

Ensure all equipment is fueled and filled with water at the end of each shift.

Verify Subcontractor time ensuring legible signin and signout with printed names.

Inspect the project daily ensuring completion with the highest quality and proper cleanup.

Report all Accidents/Incidents immediately to the supervisor and Safety Department

Order Tool Truck Supplies ahead of time through the Shop Superintendent.

Complete Daily Equipment Condition Reports and submit them daily.

Requirements/Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must possess a valid Driver\'s License and any necessary certifications or training (CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level 1 and or Level 2 is a plus) 3+ years of demonstrable industry related experience required with an emphasis on asphalt and paving. Applicants must possess at least 6 months of pertinent experience working with asphalt. An understanding of the road construction industry and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of and experience in the civil construction field, equipment, and job management. Understanding of OSHA regulations pertaining to road construction and asphalt operations. Understanding of DOT specifications and standards. Capable of heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and reaching Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies. Able to work outdoors with periodic exposure to environment with high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project. Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and excels as a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills. Exemplary attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and a safety focused mindset. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
