This position can be worked at our Global Contact Center in Omaha, Nebraska or Marion, Illinois. This position can also be worked remotely. Please note this position can only be worked remotely from the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.
The Manager, Learning Design is responsible for colleague learning and growth through the design of various types of learning content, just-in-time learning, and well-crafted communication, working closely with the Global GPGS Leadership, Learning Managers, Translation teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure that the desired outcomes are achieved. The Manager, Learning Design will support Global GPGS in these efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
- The Manager, Learning Design is guided by innovation and creativity through the use of the following approaches:
- Human Performance Improvement (HPI) (Focus on behavior/behavior change)
- Tell Show Do Review (Addressing multiple adult learning styles)
- Innovation process (Allowing for creative approaches to instructional design/development)
- Kirkpatrick Learning Evaluation Mode (Understanding learner response and content impact)
- Development of content across a multitude of learner groups that have numbers upwards of 1,000+ colleagues across multiple Global Property & Guest Services Hubs and 10,000+ associates across multiple hotels.
- Manage multiple projects of varying sizes across both brief and large spans of time and manage resources effectively.
- Address all aspects of content development, including pre-work, training events, assessments, post-work, and all associated deadlines, which includes conducting a needs assessment, identifying appropriate learning approach, applying learning theory, collaborating closely with others, designing a curriculum, program, or learning solution, designing and developing instructional materials, analyzing and selecting technologies that best fit projects, integrating technology options, and evaluating learning design.
- Stay current with Learning trends through ongoing internal/external educational opportunities and through industry books, articles, and blogs, taking initiative to actively seek out opportunity.
- Analyze data from various evaluation tools, which will allow our sponsors and/or stakeholders to understand the effectiveness of developed content.
- Communicate project statuses through internal ticket management system, as well as through various touchpoints with stakeholders and Organizational Design management sponsors.
- Participate in required weekly team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and other meetings as directed by the demands of the role. Regular attendance is key to staying connected to ongoing development, patterns of absence could jeopardize success in the role.
- Responsible for understanding learning technology, using technology effectively across the different areas of expertise, and identifying when and how to use technology as a learning/training and development solution.

Qualifications
Experience:
- 2 or more years experience in developing adult self-paced eLearning content required.
- 2 or more years experience creating training resources, such as study guides, lesson plans, and/or training manuals is required.
- 2 or more years experience with organizing and managing multiple projects.
- 1 or more years experience with the Hyatt reservation system (Reserve) is preferred.
- Experience working with innovation design systems and developing creative work groups is preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Exposure to formal post-secondary education is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Human Performance Improvement (HPI) certification, and other certifications related to Learning & Development, eLearning, or design functions preferred.
Computer Skills Needed:
- Require 5+ years of experience with general Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) applications. Intermediate to advanced proficiency preferred.
- 1 or more years experience with the Hyatt reservation system (Reserve) is preferred.
- Strong intuitive sense of new technology and can efficiently leverage resources to learn is preferred.
- Exposure to photo/image editing and/or video editing applications is preferred.
- Exposure to social media applications (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc) is preferred.
- Exposure to one or more of the following applications: Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Microsoft Project Management, and/or FinalCut X is preferred.
Additional Comments and Requirements:
- Requires exemplary communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
- Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to the smallest detail.
- Requires strong time management, event management, and prioritization skills.
- Requires strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Requires schedule and shift flexibility (day and night shifts, weekday and weekend) that would allow for periodic travel (0 to 5 domestic and/or international trips max annually) for the purposes of project work, meetings, training/facilitation, and/or ongoing education.
- Works well with others and is able to work effectively and efficiently within a team.
