Monterey Spine & Joint (MSJ) of Monterey, CA is looking to hire a full-time Advanced Practice Provider / Physician Associate (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our private practice. This advanced practice provider position earns a competitive salary of $93,000 - $145,000/year, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATE (PA) / NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)

As a nurse practitioner or physician associate, you play a critical role in the medical care provided to our patients. You work directly with a team of our surgeons in order to diagnose and treat a variety of orthopedic conditions primarily in the upper extremities. In addition to conducting patient examinations, you order and interpret X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory testing. You perform post operative care, injections, minor surgical procedures and new patient work ups. In order to ensure an optimal outcome, you update patient treatment plans by recording their responses and progress within our private practice"s documentation format.

You develop and maintain professional relationships with referring physicians and outside facilities. In addition, you stay up to date on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in organizations. By following established safety procedures, you use all equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner. You perform all your responsibilities while maintaining the strict confidentiality of our patients. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATE (PA) / NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)

Graduate of an accredited physician associate (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) program
Hold a State of California license or have the ability to obtain one
Current DEA license
Current CPR/first aid certification
Ability to adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines, emergency calls, and priorities

Having two or more years of experience working in an outpatient orthopedic clinic is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. Do you have excellent verbal and written communication skills? Are you detail-oriented? Can you balance multiple tasks while demonstrating good time management in a fast-paced environment? Do you have superb problem-solving abilities? If so, you might just be perfect for this position at our private practice!

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATE (PA) / NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)

This full-time nurse practitioner / physician assistant position typically works Monday through Friday with some weekend or evening coverage.
