Job description
Northwest Partners is currently looking for a resourceful Help Desk Support Associate for our client to provide user support and install, update, maintain and control the performance and status of software and network resources to ensure optimum user availability, working within the limits of standard or accepted practices.
Northwest Partners does not currently sponsor applicants for work visas (H1B); we are only capable of hiring for Green Card/US Citizen only.
What Will You Do For Our Client?
- Review and respond to inquiries from network system users.
- Identify and diagnose problems with hardware, software or configuration of equipment and make repairs or recommend changes to hardware and/or software to resolve problems.
- Utilize technical support from hardware or software manufacturers as a resource to aid in identifying and resolving complex computer related problems.
- Determine new requirements for user's systems and contact vendors to request information and quotations on new hardware and software.
- Install new hardware and software as required.
- Recommend replacement of or addition to network elements or changes in software configuration.
- Perform upgrades to hardware and software elements of the system as required to maintain maximum functional level of network and its components.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for approved items as required and forward for approval and placement by others.
- Create procedures for review and inclusion in departmental procedures and policy manual.
- Perform or assist with any departmental operations, as required or directed to maintain workflow and meet production schedules and requirements.
- Maintain safe work areas and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.
- Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
- Keep inventory of all equipment, software, and license users.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications For Consideration:
- Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science preferred
- Minimum 1 year of help desk experience
- Great communication, interpersonal and support skills
- Experience with JIRA and Slack
- Experience with business process analysis and documentation
- Great organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through
- Helping with enduser imaging using both Mac and Windows
