Our second shift employee-owners work 4 days and enjoy a long 3-day weekend! On top of that they also receive a 7% shift premium!
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary focus of the Utility Operator position is to provide support in a variety of areas throughout the machine shop/production shop, which supports the 2900 and 2701 locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides support and back-up to various functions within the machine shop. These back-up/support duties include, but are not limited to:
- Truck Driving (Not CDL)
- Loading/Unloading Trucks
- Material Handling
- Shipping/Receiving
- Assembly Duties:
- Bolt, clip, screw and fasten parts together.
- Perform basic inspection of finished assembly.
- Polish Parts
- Sawing/Bandsaw
- Hand sawing, griding, and deburring
- As experience is gained, may read, and determine how to most efficiently assemble and disassemble parts from blueprints.
- May start to run the saw after someone has experience with the items above.
- Follow 5S procedures, ISO/quality procedures, and all safety procedures and protocols.
- Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Lead.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing shop environment preferred.
- Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Skills & Other Qualifications:
- Problem solving skills.
- Mechanical inclined.
- Ability to learn and operate safely forklift, crane, and company vehicle.
- Ability to understand basic machining methods.
- Self-driven and motivated.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to take direction and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to read blueprints is preferred, but not required for an entry-level Utility Operator.
