The Dental Hygiene Discipline at Delta College is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member committed to equity, retention, and completion for student success. The instructor will be responsible for effective teaching in the face-to-face and blended classroom settings. Potential candidates will have the ability to teach online as well as face-to-face and blended/hybrid courses during the evening, at multiple locations (Downtown Centers, Dual Enrollment Partners), and nontraditional times as needed. In addition, we seek candidates whose pedagogy, research, and continuous professional development have prepared them to engage with the college's commitment to belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI).

- Must have the ability to teach in both a classroom and clinical setting and be particularly adept in the areas of dental assisting.

- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and spring/summer.
- Teach didactic, laboratory, preclinical and clinical courses in the dental programs
- Assist with restructuring of the dental assisting program.
- As a faculty team member, work with other faculty members to ensure that the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards are met.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Current Certificate for BLS (Healthcare Provider with AED)
- Current Certificate for Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide.
- Certified Dental Assistant Certification within 3 months of hire through the Dental Assisting National Board
- Registered Dental Hygienist License, State of Michigan
- Minimum 2 years, (4000 hours) equivalent work experience in the field
- Background in and current knowledge of dental assisting/dental hygiene, the specific subjects they are teaching and educational theory and methodology consistent with teaching assignment, e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement and evaluation.
- Flexibility with teaching times of classes

- Bilingual.
- Master's degree.
- Registered Dental Assistant License, State of Michigan
- Current knowledge of the specific subjects they are teaching.
- Documented background in current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments.
- Demonstrate professional growth in the Dental profession.
- College teaching experience.
- Experience with CODA Accreditation and Site Visits.
- Current 2 years clinical experience in Dental Hygiene.
