Shift Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm
• weekend on-call rotation for health information

As a health information specialist / coder, your primary responsibilities will include:

• entering physician orders, resident data, and employee information into the Electronic Charting System (ECS) in a timely and accurate manner
• working with documentation sheets and maintaining appropriate records, lists, and reports generated by the system for facility use
• assisting with audits
• ensuring integrity, privacy, and confidentiality of all data

Preferred Qualifications:

• Health Information Degree preferred

Required Qualifications:

• completed coursework in anatomy physiology and medical terminology
• experience with data entry
• strong written and verbal communication skills
• excellent customer service
• understanding of basic HIPAA practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical records is necessary
• computer proficiency with the Electronic Medical Record system and Microsoft Office products, as well as other office equipment
• ability to multi-task and perform in an environment with interruptions, multiple responsibilities, and deadlines
