Shift Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm
- weekend on-call rotation for health information

As a health information specialist / coder, your primary responsibilities will include:
- entering physician orders, resident data, and employee information into the Electronic Charting System (ECS) in a timely and accurate manner
- working with documentation sheets and maintaining appropriate records, lists, and reports generated by the system for facility use
- assisting with audits
- ensuring integrity, privacy, and confidentiality of all data
Preferred Qualifications:
- Health Information Degree preferred
Required Qualifications:
- completed coursework in anatomy physiology and medical terminology
- experience with data entry
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- excellent customer service
- understanding of basic HIPAA practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical records is necessary
- computer proficiency with the Electronic Medical Record system and Microsoft Office products, as well as other office equipment
- ability to multi-task and perform in an environment with interruptions, multiple responsibilities, and deadlines
