Compliance Business Analyst

Job description
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for assisting operational leaders with maintaining and achieving industry legal, regulatory, and operational compliance across the states we operate. You will continuously support the improvement of the technical quality of the Company’s compliance management through automation and database improvements and governance. The position will analyze and communicate findings, recommend solutions, and assist in the development of meaningful actions.
In this role you will:
- Accurately interpret existing and new state laws to help implement procedures to ensure agency compliance.
- Identify agency compliance and regulatory risks, establish risk controls, and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements around agency activity.
- Regularly communicate findings and status of compliance reports to key stakeholders.
- Identify and manage process improvements related to compliance management.
- Manage and ensure governance of internal compliance data repository.
- Review appointed agents to evaluate production volume versus annual license expense.
- Collaborate with our legal teams to ensure systems, processes, and procedures are compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Support the review and assessment of third-party vendors’ and service providers’ compliance programs.
- Assist in reviewing, amending, and finalizing agreements and contracts with clients.
- Maintain and update compliance library resources, including cross checking and validating that information is up-to date.
- Serve on committees, working groups and projects required to coordinate compliance monitoring, reporting and new initiatives.
- Support the rollout and implementation of compliance procedures.
What you will need:
- 2+ years business analytics experience.
- Intermediate to expert level excel skills required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong time management skills to meet internal and external deadlines.
- Ability to distill complex regulatory laws into understandable language.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively.
- Project management, technological and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy.
- Prior regulatory/compliance/licensing experience in personal lines insurance space is a plus.
- Knowledge and ability to use SQL and Salesforce are a plus.
