About This Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Human Factors team at Veranex! In this role, you will support human factors engineering design, development, and testing activities in cross-functional program teams, innovating and improving medical device and consumer healthcare products.
What You Will Do:
- Applies human factors engineering knowledge in cross-functional team environment to evaluate the design space for new consumer healthcare products and medical devices in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Provides human factors support across the product lifecycle including client and user needs identification, generation of hardware and software design concepts, user interface design, testing and analysis.
- Performs human factors engineering functions for computer human interface analysis, situational awareness, human-in-the-loop scenarios, ergonomics, and kinematics.
- Conceptualizes and executes human factors engineering direction in accordance with client and development team goals. Produces customer-focused designs that address user needs, platforms, architecture, and manufacturing constraints.
- Develop and conduct human factors research studies with minimal guidance from other engineers.
- Plan and conduct end user evaluations of product concepts, data analysis, document evaluation methods/results.
- May present design recommendations to the project team.
- May assist with analytical use risk analysis to predict and/or assess use error risk potential. Identifies design mitigations.
- Participates in client interaction.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines or similar: human factors engineering, design / mechanical engineering, ergonomics, biomedical engineering, industrial design and psychology.
- Minimum of 3-6 years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of the principles of medical device and healthcare regulations
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to communicate visually via sketches, charts, and digital presentations
- Ability to multi- task and perform a wide range of activities
- Ability to work under a timeline
- Ability to solve technical problems
- Ability to travel up to ~40%
