BRM Liaison (Carbohydrate Solutions) - Decatur, IL This is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Summary: The BRM liaison for Carbohydrate Solutions will collaborate Global Technology (GT) and the Carbohydrate Solutions Business Unit leaders and teams to research, draft, and refine technology enabled strategy for the business. The BRM Liaison will also coordinate communications and expectations with business teams regarding planning, delivery, and escalations for the technology projects impacting their strategy, and identify and build relationships with business team members needed to forge a strong working relationship between them and GT. The scope of the role's work will be across the technology development lifecycle including networking, ideation and research on new potential capabilities, understanding the critical needs of the business and history of technology efforts impacting those areas, convening workstream leaders to understand pipeline asks, planning and road-mapping major priorities, setting expectations on what and how technology can be delivered, facilitating decisioning on priorities with other Global Technology (GT) functions (e.g., PMO, Transformation Office), and serving as a key point of contact for inflight projects and status on operational issues. The BRM Liaison lead will work with all other GT functions (solution delivery, deployment, infrastructure, security, application development, enterprise architecture, etc.) for thought partnership and to ensure a consistent, clean, and holistic perspective on technology for these business counterparts.
Key Responsibilities:
Networking - Establish collaborative relationships with key leads in the business
- Map influencers and key stakeholders at N-2, N-3, and N-4 levels
- Take feedback on GT performance and coordinate mitigation
Ideation - Listen and learn about business objectives and strategies
- Conduct early ideation discussions and identify areas for formal ideation sessions
- Understand the recent history of technology enablement across ADM
- Collect (e.g., from Enterprise Architecture, Digital & Innovation, personal research) and present ideas for technology capabilities that could augment strategic plans
- Facilitate sessions to define the potential shape and composition of technology transformations for consideration in long term planning
Planning - Convene technology councils to compile and bundle technology asks
- Structure and simplify technology risk vs. reward conversations
- Lead and execute 'Pre-Discovery' efforts to categorize technology projects to support first stage prioritization (ROM sizing, nature of delivery, impacting GT areas, Discovery staffing)
- Collaborate to roadmap major technology efforts based on sequencing and dependencies
- Support prioritization within PMO and Transformation Office defined processes
- Broker conversations with other GT experts to answer important early shaping and prioritization questions and to clarify path forward on decisioning
Communications - Share context on GT strategies, relevant current efforts, and expectations on how projects will be prioritized, planned, and delivered
- Educate business managers on the realities of technology project delivery (e.g., long-tail costs, architectural constraints, global vs. local considerations)
- Share global perspective on technology at ADM (e.g., other successes and lessons learned)
Escalations - Anticipate emerging issues or unplanned technology project asks using a network of regular contacts
- Track and help liaise across GT on operational issues (e.g., outages) affecting business leaders
- Investigate questions and concerns that raise to higher levels of the organization that are not addressed with business-as-usual project/program management
- Advocate for GT teams when there is a misunderstanding on performance or bring together the appropriate GT leaders to do so
- Channel feedback in healthy manner where teams can improve

Experience - 5-10+ years experience in strategic technology consulting or similar large corporate technology transformation programs with track record of successful deployments and business impact
- 5-10 years experience leading teams
- 5+ years experience in the agriculture, nutrition, or related industries
- Enterprise platform integration (e.g., SAP, Salesforce.com, JDE, AS400) experience on large transformations
- Track record of managing large scale transformations
- Experience working with external partners including delivery partners (design, development, strategic integrators, etc.) and ecosystem partners (e.g., 3rd party SI service or software providers)
- Ability to evaluate technology solutions and understand large scale platform selection programs
- Familiarity with disruptive technologies: IoT, robotics, drones, Blockchain, Cloud platforms, smart phone, web, etc.
- Entrepreneur attitude with resilient optimism and ability to push beyond expectations
- Healthy but pragmatic risk appetite
- High accountability with a demonstrated ability to deliver
- Eloquent written communication skills for senior audiences
- Senior influencing and negotiating skills

Required education: - 4-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, science, engineering, statistics, programming or mathematical field
