Job description
Are you ready to take on an exciting and dynamic role as the Director of Creative - Packaging Design for the Member's Mark brand? You will lead a team of experienced designers and agency partners to create captivating and visually stunning packaging assets that bring our brand's guidelines to life across various channels, both online and in our clubs. Your responsibilities will go beyond just leading the packaging design team. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the team's strategy for new and emerging packaging design solutions. This includes exploring technical solutions that automate the creative process, making it more efficient.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the creative director to develop innovative private brand packaging design strategies to set us apart from the competition. Understanding the Member's Mark businesses is crucial in this role. You will leverage your creative solutions to drive business results and ensure that our packaging designs align with our brand's objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating packaging assets that not only look beautiful, but also contribute to the success of our business. Collaboration is key in our fast-paced environment. You will work with cross-functional teams within Sam's Club to ensure that creative perspectives are included in the development of new products and initiatives. Your recommendations and advocacy will help shape the direction of our brand and ensure that our creative vision is realized.
Portfolio Required - A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of packaging design projects, highlighting creativity, innovation. This role will be based out of our home office location in Bentonville, Arkansas. What you'll do:
10+ years of experience in creative packaging design, demonstrating a deep understanding of the field.
- Track record of successfully leading and managing a team of creative professionals, fostering collaboration
- A passion for innovative solutions and a drive to push boundaries in packaging design.
- Proficient knowledge of design principles, including typography, photography, layout, and the printing production process.
- Solid understanding of current packaging trends and the competitive market, with the ability to stay ahead of industry developments.
- Experience collaborating with design operations, merchants, brand managers, and other cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive and impactful packaging designs.
- Retail industry experience, particularly in omnichannel and private brand design, is a valuable asset.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), InVision, Sketch, and After Effects/Motion, demonstrating technical expertise in design software.
- A genuine passion for Walmart, Sam's Club, their values, partners, and products, driving a strong commitment to the brand and its success.
