Overview:  

Under the general supervision of the Centennial Beach Assistant Manager, the Guest Services Attendant position is responsible for all frontline customer service. Major duties include money handling, pass sales, registration, merchandise sales, and handling customer complaints and inquiries. This position is also responsible for general grounds clean-up and facility cleanliness.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provide an exceptional customer service experience through assisting customers on the phone and in person with all Centennial Beach processes and questions. Respond quickly to phone calls and any customer complaints or inquiries.
  2. Successfully operate membership and POS computer software in order to assist customers.
  3. Ensure confidential use of customer information, including credit card transactions and household account information.
  4. Assist customers with and complete all necessary phases of membership sales and point of sale transactions.
  5. Successfully balance receipts, reconcile transactions and prepare daily bank deposits.
  6. Handle cash and report computer concerns. Follow all park district policies related to proper cash handling procedures including balancing cash and preparing appropriate reports (i.e., daily cash statements, receipts, and deposits).
  7. Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment. Report needed items to Assistant Manager.
  8. Maintain clean bathhouse showers and restroom areas by such tasks as sweeping and garbage removal.
  9. Re-stock restroom supplies daily and as needed throughout the day.
  10. Perform daily grounds clean-up of garbage and debris, including litter picking, emptying garbage cans and taking garbage to dumpsters.
  11. Assist patrons entering the park. Check identification, scan cards, check coolers, and provide information and direction if needed.
  12. Assist with the three times daily deep water testing and document the names of patrons that pass the test.
  13. Arrange picnic tables, chairs and umbrellas when needed.
  14. Ensure public safety by monitoring Centennial Beach and the surrounding Riverwalk areas within the direct vicinity of Centennial Beach.
  15. Maintain a safe, clean and friendly environment for guests, co-workers and the general public.
  16. Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management. Report all accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Assist with annual loss control review process, aquatic audits and required health department inspections.
  17. Respond appropriately to emergency procedures.
  18. Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
  19. Follow and model compliance with all District, State, Federal and departmental safety and risk management, personnel, administrative policies and procedures, ordinances and regulations.
