Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

Clearance: Active Secret Required

Location: Remote

Integral Federal seeks an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer to play a pivotal role in establishing an Azure Virtual Desktop environment in GovCloud (using PIV login) for a federal agency while providing top-tier systems administration support both within a SCIF environment and across the broader agency structure.

Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active Department of Defense SECRET clearance (no interim adjudications will be accepted).

This role is remote with occasional travel to the client site.

Responsibilities:

• Azure Virtual Desktop Support: Lead the setup and ongoing maintenance of the Azure Virtual Desktop architecture in GovCloud leveraging PIV login.

• Migration Expertise: Successfully establish the agency's Azure Virtual Desktop environment and orchestrate a seamless migration if required, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.

• System Administration: Implement and maintain the system, aligning with the needs of Azure Virtual Desktop projects, including the management of defined user groups, provision of thin client support, and administration of Azure Virtual Desktop image management.

• Problem Diagnosis & Solution: Analyze, diagnose, and resolve intricate challenges associated with both physical and virtual infrastructure platforms. Implement and recommend corrective solutions and preventive measures.

• Technical Coordination and Service Desk Support: Work in tandem with the IT Service Desk, addressing end-user requirements and aiding in troubleshooting when required.

• Documentation: Establish and consistently update relevant policies, standards, and knowledge base articles.

• Operational Support: Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer support for the Azure Virtual Desktop environment, ensuring STIG compliance.

• Technical Integration: Evaluate, design, and integrate technical infrastructure solutions in line with a secure infrastructure environment, production stability, and peak performance.

• Project Support: Participate actively in major projects, encompassing the installation of computers, networking gear, servers, storage solutions, and more.

Required:

• Active Secret clearance

· 2+ years of experience implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions with some experience in GovCloud leveraging PIV login.

• 3-5 years of experience in supporting and planning desktop virtualization systems.

• 3-5 years of proficiency in virtualization system optimizations and tuning.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system and data backup.

• At least 3 years of expertise in configuration and documentation management.

• A minimum of 3 years coordinating with service providers.

• Proficiency in implementing Azure STIGs.

• Sound familiarity with the latest versions of Azure, Nutanix, and Windows.

• Proven experience in migrations, upgrades, and provisioning services.

• Familiarity with the virtualization of Azure Servers.

• Comprehensive grasp of both physical and logical networking, including Application Virtualization technologies like MS App-V.

• Prior involvement in intricate infrastructure projects.

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or certification; work experience may be a substitute

• Hands-on experience with Azure ADC is a considerable advantage.
