Job description
JOB SUMMARY The Distribution Associate II performs routine and complex activities associated with a Service Center (Mailroom) environment focusing on the receipt and delivery of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Use company directory to verify addressing, route, and distribute inter-office and incoming mail.
- Assist with dock activity, loading, and unloading trucks, and help maintain a clean environment.
- Inspect packages for damages and verify quantities received, noting any discrepancies prior to signature.
- Act as a resource relating to inquiries, issues, or concerns.
- Deliver airfreight, messenger, ground packages, and obtain proof of delivery.
- Scan all incoming mail/packages utilizing x-ray technology; escalate suspicious items per established guidelines.
- Process incoming FedEx, office supplies (Office Depot), UPS, and USPS packages via the automated package handling system (Pitney Bowes Arrival System); maintain accurate logs for incoming and outgoing shipments (FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Process invoices through SAP Apay system; work with accounts payable to process new vendors.
- Act as a resource to co-workers.
- Utilize company vehicle, adhering to company guidelines, deliver mail and packages between the Allstate Plazas and deliver mail to the APCC (print center) for processing; follow special handling instructions for all Tax Department Certified Mail.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This job does not have supervisory duties.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- 0-2 years experience (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS - Ability to use Outlook or Word for general communication
- Ability to work independently and interact with other employees and customers in a professional manner
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis (copy paper)
- Must have valid drivers license
