Job description

The University of Iowa is seeking a Manager, FM Maintenance Stores Department. This role will manage the day-to-day supply chain administrative and operational functions including any financial recommendations and staffing oversight. Collaborate with customers and vendors to procure optimal products that align with UI policies and procedures while meeting the needs of the customers. Approve marketing plans and/or strategies while overseeing implementation as it relates to FM Maintenance Stores. Recommend and approve inventory modifications in FM’s work management system and approve rules and policies to assist with the internal FM procurement process. Responsible for inventory sales and expenses, identification of supply options, loss prevention and overall store appearance and layout. Oversee inventory controls, determine reorder amount, and manage merchandise assortment and new production information. Monitor contracts and support product negotiations, contract pricing, and terms and conditions within established guidelines on behalf of the unit and/or the organization. Provide budgetary information along with reporting updates on operational status and departmental KPIs. Primary source for hiring, development and support of the supply chain staff while acting as the point of contact when representing the department and the outcomes on behalf of the unit.

This position is performed fully on campus.

Duties to include:

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

About Facilities Management:

Facilities Management (FM) is a service unit of approximately 500 employees who work behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, serving the University of Iowa as stewards for our downtown Iowa City campus and Oakdale campus in Coralville. FM staff coordinate campus master planning, manage design and construction, and maintain and clean the buildings and grounds.
