Job description
We are seeking an experienced New York State Certified Special Education Teacher to join our client's non-profit organization. This is a full-time 12-month position
7:50 am to 5:15 pm Monday-Friday
ABA Instructor Responsibilities
- Successfully implement programs based on applied behavior analysis, occupational therapy, and speech and language pathology.
- Complete intake and ongoing assessments of students
- Accurately collect all necessary data on student's performance, behaviors, and progress
- Led and participate in group instruction and activities
- Implement behavior intervention plans
- Participate in all necessary team meetings including staff meetings and training sessions
- Supervise and train teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
- Ensure parent communication is maintained and progress reports are completed
ABA Instructor Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- New York State Certified Special Education Teacher (Birth-2nd Grade, TSSLD, TSHH, LMSW, LCSW certified) OR LMSW, LCSW, NP, RN, LPN
- TSSLD (Certified Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) is a plus
- One year of experience as a led teacher in a special education classroom
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as a team player
