About the Role & Program
Disney’s Corporate Creative Resources (DCCR) group is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated intern for our graphic design team! We provide creative services and solutions to a broad array of clients including D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, The Walt Disney Archives and both our Internal and Corporate Communications partners. Our projects include brand identities, digital marketing, event design, merchandise, print production, and in-person and virtual presentations.
What You Will Do
You will play a meaningful role in supporting the Design team while learning how to leverage creativity and design knowledge for both digital design and traditional print media. This intern must be willing to learn how to develop, execute and maintain creative excellence while ensuring Disney brand standards.
This role’s day-to-day tasks includes the following:
- Supporting graphic design, including but not limited to event design as well as digital graphics, photography and photo editing, illustration, and typography
- Designing and revising graphics, posters, presentations, event signage, social, digital communications and more
- Contributing with design research and brainstorming with cross functional creative partners
- Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team on at least one project from blue sky to completion
- Working very closely with a Senior Designer who will act as a supervisor and mentor
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop)
- Working knowledge of motion graphics is a plus
- Basic photography knowledge
- Familiarity with Figma is appreciated
- Time management and problem solving skills with a passion to learn and an eagerness to tackle new challenges
- The ability to provide oversight to multiple priorities and timelines, self-manage and meet deadlines while being highly organized in an exciting, fast-paced environment
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback
- Knowledge of file formats and specifications in preparation for printing versus web
- Passion for the Walt Disney Company and knowledge of the Entertainment industry is desired
Education
- Currently enrolled as a junior, senior or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Design, Communication, Fine Arts, Digital Media or a related major
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- An online portfolio is required as part of this application process. This portfolio should be included as a URL link listed on your resume.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 - January 2025
- Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- This internship is a primarily on-site position -- Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Glendale, CA area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.70 per hour.
