Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seek  Scientist for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Brisbane, CA.

RNA, Gene Therapy & Delivery is an organization within Therapeutics Discovery, committed to the delivery of high-quality drug candidates in the novel synthetic modalities space. Our mission requires critical thinking, a portfolio approach and deep scientific expertise in several fields including oligonucleotide chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry, nanotechnology, cellular and molecular pharmacology, and screening technologies coupled with an ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare buffers, reagents, and other necessary materials for LNP formulation experiments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.

· Manage inventory of laboratory consumables and reagents, proactively ordering supplies to maintain stock levels and support ongoing research activities.

· Perform Lipid Nano Particle (LNP) formulation experiments at various scales, supporting the optimization of formulation processes.

· Conduct quality control assessments for LNP formulations using techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), ribogreen assay, endotoxin analysis, ensuring product quality and consistency.

· Label and aliquot LNP formulations for storage, distribution, and further analysis, maintaining accurate records and documentation.

· Provide logistical support to the team, including ordering lab materials, preparing shipments, and managing inventory and protocols.

· Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhering to relevant safety guidelines and procedures.

· Maintain the LNP formulation database, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for the team.

· Demonstrate a high level of productivity and efficiency in the laboratory setting, meeting project deadlines and goals.

· Present data and reports on project status at individual, group, and departmental meetings, contributing to project planning and decision-making processes.

 

Qualifications

· Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.

· Demonstrated proficiency in pipetting tasks, including experience with single-channel and multichannel pipettes.

· Experience in conducting assays using 96-well plates is required.

· Strong skills in buffer preparation and laboratory techniques, including chemical calculations such as moles, dilutions, and concentration adjustments with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Record of maintaining a strong lab presence is required.

· Prior experience with LNP formulation and characterization is preferred but not required; candidates with relevant experience in other areas will also be considered.

· Familiarity with automation techniques is a plus.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

· Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing circumstances in a research environment.

· Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and communicate findings clearly
