Job description
Position Title: Reproductive Justice and Gender Affirming Care Strategist
Reports To: OHEA Director
Duration: Full-time, Limited Duration through June 2025 with opportunity to extend.
Compensation: Salaried $65,000-70,000

About OHEA
OHEA is a people of color led collaborative, organized to center and uplift the wisdom of our communities of color through racial justice informed health equity policies and practices, as part of the movement to dismantle white supremacy and shift the imbalance of power. OHEA is guided by six culturally specific organizations, African Family Holistic Health Organization, Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization, Micronesian Islander Community, Native American Youth and Family Center, Oregon Community Health Workers Association, and the Oregon Latino Health Coalition.
OHEA is one of ten Regional Health Equity Coalitions (RHECs) in the state of Oregon. As a RHEC we are backboned by a community based organization, currently that organization is the Oregon Community Health Workers Association (ORCHWA). OHEA staff members are staff of our fiscal sponsor, though our work is independent of the fiscal sponsor.
We focus our work in three areas:
Advocacy: We provide political education opportunities and work with our community partners to identify the most effective policy changes needed to advance health equity in Oregon.
Convener: We identify opportunities to convene partners around a specific shared equity goal.
Knowledge Center: Informed by community wisdom, we partner with institutions to improve their practices and policies around engaging with community partners and members.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Reproductive Justice and Gender Affirming Care Strategist is responsible for stewarding OHEA’s community led, queer and trans people of color focused, reproductive justice and gender affirming care health needs assessment in the tri-county region of Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties.The position is a limited duration with potential to extend employment. This position would work closely with OHEA’s team to advance OHEA three core work areas, including advocacy and political education, convening partners across communities and systems, and uplifting community wisdom through our knowledge center. Specifically, this position would focus work in the following areas:
