What? This position is responsible for the day-to-day shift manufacturing operations. Incumbent will have responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety, morale, methodical problem solving and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) objectives through both individual and team contributions.
Main aspects of the role include:
- Ensure employees adhere to safe work practices; supports the company’s goal to reduce injuries.
- Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovation, continuous improvement, and cooperation are used to solve problems.
- Promote positive employee relations through effective relationship building, conflict management and issue resolution.
- Responsible for enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, business areas, and functional areas.
- Manage daily staffing and effective resource allocation to maximize process efficiency.
- Obtain in-depth understanding of technical manufacturing processes & ensure team is progressively developing technical expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools.
- Responsible for business improvement projects specifically related to processes, procedures, schedules and operator team effectiveness

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology or Management with a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience. In addition, experience in a food manufacturing setting is required. This candidate should have experience in lean manufacturing or a green/black belt in Lean Six Sigma. The individual should have demonstrated experience leadership, management, and people development skills. The ability to think strategically and convert strategy into action, with excellent communication skills, and Microsoft Office skills is required. This position does require the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
