Position Summary
Lincoln University of Missouri, Jefferson city, MO, is seeking a highly motivated, creative individual to apply for a Research Associate/Post-doc position in the College of Agriculture, Environmental, and Human Sciences with a preferred background in agribusiness, agricultural and applied economics, economics or related fields. This is a 12-month full benefit-eligible staff position.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research in the areas of consumer and producer behavior analysis using choice experiment techniques, goat and sheep production economics, economic impact analysis, agricultural product marketing, and rural development under the direction of the supervisor. The candidate also will have opportunities to help compose proposals and supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
Primary responsibilities of the position include: (1) Performing literature and review to develop proposal ideas (2) conducting research, data analysis, and manuscript draft under the direction of the PI (3) Other duties upon the request of the PI.
The position is full-time, with funding available for one year and possibly for renewal, depending on performance and funding availability.
Knowledge, Skills, and abilities
A background in consumer research, economic impact analysis, IMPLAN, econometric modeling, and survey design is highly desirable. Interpersonal, effective oral and written communication skills and willingness and ability to work in a team-orientated environment with a diverse group of faculty are essential.
Education and Experience
Applicants must have a master's degree in agricultural economics, environmental and resource economics, experimental economics, or related fields by the time of appointment. A Ph.D is preferred.
