The Receptionists purpose is to serve the needs of residents, visitors, and staff by offering information and assistance in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner..
** Schedule: Saturday Only, 7am - 3:30pm
Some of the main responsibilities:
- Answers telephones and places calls for others. Screens telephone calls for department heads and takes accurate messages. Ensures that the telephone is answered no later than the fifth ring.
- Maintain scheduling of events to be held in the Community Education Room and the Care Center Conference Room.
- At times, has sole responsibility of managing the activities in the front lobby. This includes answering the telephone and greeting guests and others in the Lobby.
- Must be knowledgeable of all services offered by the facility.
- Separates nursing care mail and gives to nursing stations, sorts facility mail and gives to appropriate department directors or managers.
- Types correspondence, reports, memorandum, etc. as needed.
- Prepares Face Sheets for new admissions.
- Prepares and keeps current Resident business office file.
- Keeps the work area neat and orderly. Ensures that all office supplies are adequate and reorders as necessary within office budget.
- Greets guests and others courteously and provides information and assistance as required.
- Makes copies and processes maintenance and housekeeping requests for residents as requested.
- Works in conjunction and cooperation with other office personnel as a member of a team that has various responsibilities. May be required to show facility, type correspondence and policies, etc.
- Prepares mails and logs all outgoing and incoming physician telephone orders, monitoring for timely return, and re-mailing as necessary.
- Processes resident payments; prepares bank deposits.
- Handles transactions for the Resident Trust Account, including deposits, withdrawals and replenishing cash drawer.
- Should, as part of the work routine, learn as much as possible about the facility, its personnel, residents, office duties, and health care for the aging so as to become well-rounded on the workings of the facility.
- Performs other duties as requested by Administrator.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to type medical and technical information.
- Experience with switchboards and telephone answering etiquette.
- Must be courteous, professional and possess the ability to work with others, especially the elderly.
- Required to possess current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or have the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card .
