Within Barracuda, the Project Manager takes the lead in delivery management and oversight. The PM could be engaged in scrum administration, small projects, business process improvement or enterprise-wide projects. Assignments will vary based upon current needs in the portfolio, along with PMO capacity and the skills/strengths of the individual person.
The Project Manager may be working with Project Owners, Executive Sponsors, Product Managers, and other key resources. However, it is up to the Project Manager to effectively manage risks, issues, communications, planning, scheduling as well as to own the successful delivery of the project.
What you will be working on
- Facilitate large, complex project planning exercises and meetings across teams
- Monitor and report progress of large, complex projects
- Identify risks through cross-functional change management process
- Manage multiple pieces of work at any given time
- Coordinate groups of related projects, understanding and appropriately communicating the inter-dependencies and the resource constraints
- Understand and plan against project priorities across the Enterprise
- Assist in allocation and optimization of resources across the various projects
- Eliminate (or escalate) roadblocks as they arise
- Ensure owners, stakeholders and RACI are defined as appropriate
- Ensure project closure upon completion
- Coordinate, facilitate, document and manage meetings
Project documents
At any point in time, a project stakeholder or leadership should be able to check the project page and see fully up to date project deliverables.
Every project should create and maintain (at a minimum), the components of the project wiki template.
- Create program status reports and other communication plan outcomes
- Ensure that all project meetings/discussions/outcomes/decisions are being thoroughly and clearly documented.
- Share meeting notes, recordings, updated documents and plans within 48 hours of the meeting.
- Updates may be shared informally in Slack or email but that doesn’t replace the requirement to update the project Wiki.
- The PM should have the ability to create and maintain a detailed project schedule, including tasks, dependencies, resource allocations and lag/lead

Work experience and certifications
New hires should meet or exceed these experience requirements.Degree/experience may be adjusted at the discretion of the hiring manager.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a Master’s degree
- 5+ years of progressive experience in managing complex projects/programs
- Prior experience in SaaS environment preferred
- PMP preferred
- CSM preferred
Considerations for this role:
- The position will not manage resources immediately, but may do so in the future, based on PMO team growth
- All members of the PMO team are expected to contribute to the PMO knowledge base.This may be in the form of wiki content, processes, templates, etc.
- All members of the PMO are expected to coach and mentor; both within the PMO team and throughout the CIO organization.This may take the form of one-on-one sessions, working groups, training materials and similar content.
- Team members are expected to represent the PMO professionally, positively and collaboratively.
- Depending on the project, some PM roles are expected to manage vendor relationships.
- This would include identifying potential partners, identifying partner strategies, assisting with selection of partners and contract management.
- Once the project is initiating, PMs will collaborate with partners and working to identify a collaboration strategy, and working with partners to ensure the outcomes from signed contracts.
