Job description
The Red Bull Athlete Performance Center (APC) is an athlete accelerator where we enable Red Bull athletes to become truly outstanding performers.
As the Director of Athlete Health, you will be responsible for leading an interdisciplinary team dedicated to the provision of exceptional medical services to professional athletes.
Your focus will be on the management and implementation of health and rehabilitation services, with the goal of maximizing the individual potential of worldclass athletes and minimizing downtime due to injuries, fostering an environment conducive to peak performance and rapid recovery.
In this leadership position, you will bear a large part of the overall responsibility for the further development of the APC Los Angeles.
RESPONSIBILITIESAll the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for athlete health and rehabilitation services in a global cross-sport setting.
Lead, mentor, and oversee the performance of an interdisciplinary team of internal and external health professional (physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists etc..)
Build-up and manage an external network of health care specialists able to provide worldclass medical services
Provide treatment and rehabilitation to our athletes for injuries and develop and execute plans to promote quick and effective recovery
Strategically implement the highest level of medical care by providing a comprehensive plan associated with both short- and long-term rehabilitation and performance outcomes, including, but not limited to:
Direct all rehabilitation processes for injured athletes
Develop and build efficient and effective recovery protocols
Manage the integration of injury prevention and health optimization programs
Guarantee a constantly coordinated collaboration with internal and external performance teams
Establish and maintain strict health care protocols, including emergency response plans and injury documentation processes
Ensure adherence to all relevant healthcare regulations and sports governing body guidelines
Facilitate a collaborative culture within the health services team and coordinate care with coaching and performance staff
Engage with external medical partners to ensure a comprehensive approach to complex medical cases
Stay abreast of advancements in sports medicine and integrate innovative practices and technologies into athlete care
Lead research initiatives to advance knowledge in athlete health and performance
Develop creative concepts using the latest technologies to improve medical care inside and outside the center
Design and implement a system for continuous professional development in respective areas
Responsible for the financial management of the Athlete Health department, including budget planning and resource allocation
Generate comprehensive reports detailing health services outcomes, trends, and strategic recommendations
