As a Sterile Processing Team Lead is responsible for the operation of a shift within the Sterile Processing Department. The Team Lead will schedule, organize, and provide work direction to meet the production goals of the department. Assured policy and procedures are maintained according to established guidelines. Serves as liaison and resource for staff and customers regarding sterilization, processing of surgical instruments, and sterile instrument storage. This is a working Team Lead position.

Responsibilities - Continuously audits inventory activity and initiates appropriate inventory adjustments in a timely manner.
- Assist to maintain inventory in a manner to maximize space utilization.
- Assures prudent use of resources and efficiently maintains instruments and processing supply inventory.
- Conducts training and in-service of employees in assigned work areas pertaining to OSHA, Joint Commission and Fire & Safety as required and as designated.
- Effectively coordinates schedule to ensure adequate coverage of the department.
- Maintains established inventory of supplies and instruments.
- Ensure staff stocks supplies in proper order (FIFO)
- Assembles no less than 35-40 instruments sets per day.
- Displays complete knowledge in identifying surgical instrumentation.
- Able to teach and assist in the training of CS employees.
- Requires little or no supervision in the daily operations of the department.
- Take personal action to maintain a clean attractive work area.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
- Five (5) years of experience in a Sterile Processing Department required
- Experience with inventory control, tracking systems, purchasing, and use of computers, decontamination, and sterilization systems.
