What you will do: Our Legends Machine Operator I reads engineering drawings proficiently and checks parts for conformance to specification. Demonstrates a commitment to the success of department’s goals, supports the efforts of other team members, and contributes to team problem solving and production efforts in all aspects of job responsibilities. This is a day shift position with typical production hours between 6am-2:30pm with some occasional overtime as required.
Primary Responsibilities: - Perform basic machine set-ups and periodic preventive maintenance.
- Operate and set up complex manufacturing processes and optimize process parameters and inputs.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of production tools, tooling and test equipment.
- Prepare parts for next process
- Collects Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and verifies parts for conformance to specifications.
- Perform inventory management and data entry.
- Read and work from drawings, blueprints, and shop paperwork.
- Communicate well and work in a team environment.
- Cross train, permitting movement between work centers.
- Participates in productivity and design improvement, reduces set-up and run times, process improvement teams, work order scheduling, and dispatch list maintenance
- Performs in-process inspection and clerical functions; estimates time and materials required to complete assignments
- Ensures all manufactured parts are in full compliance to quality standards. Performs visual inspections on all parts produced and performs actual dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the department of the Quality Assurance
Education: - Typically requires High School Degree, Technical or Vocational training, or equivalent.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience
Preferred: - 2 years in aerospace
- Prior aerospace machine operator experience
Skills and Abilities: - The ability to read and follow blueprints
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- You must be a US Person
- Availability to work overtime as needed to support customer demand
Physical Requirements: - Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
- The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office.
- Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Environment: - This job operates in a professional manufacturing environment.
- Paint application in a paint booth using appropriate safety equipment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
- This role routinely uses machinery that requires frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must use hands in a very precise manners when building parts.
Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $24.00 -28.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
