Job description
Summary
Our client is looking for a mid-level Marine Biologist to join their team of professional scientists, hydrologists, wildlife biologists, architects and environmental/water resources engineers. They have been a leader in providing a variety of natural resources management services for the Mid-Atlantic region for over 35 years.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
Work Environment: Hybrid work schedule (2 days on site) / light travel
Previous experience - Conducted field studies in marine environments to collect samples and observe marine life in their natural habitats
- Analyzed samples in the laboratory using various scientific techniques and equipment
- Monitored the health and populations of marine organisms and ecosystems
- Studied the behavior, physiology, and genetics of marine species
- Assisted in the development and implementation of conservation and restoration projects
- Published research findings in scientific journals and presented at conferences
- Worked collaboratively with other scientists, researchers, and organizations in multidisciplinary projects
- Engaged in environmental impact assessments for industries affecting marine ecosystems
- Educated the public and policymakers about marine conservation and the importance of preserving marine biodiversity
- Utilized technology such as remote sensing, GIS, and underwater vehicles to study and explore marine environments
