Job description
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university
- Possess a current certification by the NSCA as a CSCS or by the CSCCA as a SCCC
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three full years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five years. Relevant experience is defined as independently developing and executing task and environment specific functional injury control and health/well- being programs for groups of athletes or DoD/Department of Homeland Security / Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal. Employment related to internships or graduate work up to one year will be considered towards relevant experience. SCC internships are being conducted across multiple H2F BDEs through university partnerships.
- Possess or ability to obtain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification. Certification cards must display the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross emblem. Web-based classes do not meet required standards.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and effectively communicate with Soldiers and leadership.
- Have the ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Capable of properly lifting and manipulating loads or weights up to 45 pounds and capable of meeting physical demands of training in all types of weather with Soldiers including the ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments to observe Soldier training evolutions and to train, educate, coach, and mentor.
- Capable of observing, demonstrating, and correcting Soldier’s performance of training/exercise techniques and form.
- Not have been convicted of a felony.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to provide health and immunization records.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in program quality assurance of the training programs per guiding instructions provided by the BDE PD to ensure training programs are aligned with industry standards and provide a report monthly.
- Participate in periodic meetings to provide a report on physical training program and recommendations/feedback on Soldier/unit progression.
- Track and document Soldier/unit progression on a regular basis and recommend opportunities for improvement to the Government.
- Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used within their work capacity which contributes to a safe working environment. Where deficiencies exist regarding SCC supplies, equipment utilization and needs, bring to the attention of leadership.
- Coordinate scheduling of facilities for Government approved courses, training, and classes as applicable.
- Develop and execute strength and conditioning programs IAW FM 7-22 Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F).
- Assist the Lead SCC with developing, coordinating, executing, and managing recommended and approved strength and conditioning programs.
- Develop lines of communication within the BDE, BN and Company leadership, including participating in associated training and other meetings.
- Coordinate, execute, and manage approved physical performance optimization training programs within the framework of the unit’s training/operational schedule, battle rhythm, and culture.
- As required, submit strength and conditioning programs, with quantified training loads, to Lead SCC for approval and implement upon Government approval.
- Assist the Lead SCC to develop, coordinate, and execute approved training programs for Soldiers with physical limitations that are medically cleared for strength and conditioning training/reconditioning.
- Coordinate with Lead SCC to ensure all strength and conditioning education and services are synchronized and integrated with approved education and services provided by H2F Performance Team.
- Coach and mentor the unit fitness leaders and H2F Integrator.
- Provide recommended and approved instruction and guidance to Soldiers and unit leadership on physical strength and conditioning with regards to injury mitigation strategies collaboratively within the H2F Performance Team.
- Identify and direct Soldiers with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to the appropriate medical professionals for evaluation and treatment.
- Collect H2F performance data and prepare documentation and reporting of data IAW guiding instructions provided by the BDE PD and submit to Government as required.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for H2F System improvement to Lead SCC.
- Observe BDE specific training events (e.g., shooting range, obstacle courses, combatives training areas, etc.) as required.
