We are a national multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm of about 100 employees that has been in business for over 40 years! We are experiencing tremendous growth with a lot of big projects going on across our various office locations. Who you are:
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and/or Maryland or ability to obtain licenses through comity within six months
- 4+ years of experience and design in the engineering field working on projects in PA or MD
- Proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads and/or OpenRoads design software .
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/CIVIL 3D is a plus.
- Erosion and Sediment Control design in Pennsylvania and/or Maryland.
- Highway, Roadway, traffic, drainage design in Pennsylvania and/or Maryland.
- Traffic Modeling, Signal Design, and Roundabout Design experience is highly desired.
What you will be doing:
- Project Engineers are expected to be able to operate CADD systems and CADD based programs and be knowledgeable in using industry accepted engineering and design software for their technical discipline.
- Act as a technical advisor to less experienced team members.
- Understand, follow, and enforce approved CADD and Graphics Standards.
- Ensure adherence to approved procedure for control of documents and records and may assist in schedule maintenance and progress reports.
- Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Manager for review using appropriate check sheets set up for quality control on each project.
- Perform calculations, verify design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations.
- Coordinate with other team members during preliminary and final document preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements.
- Communicate with internal team members, subconsultants, and others as appropriate to project using good verbal and written skills.
- Attend and participate in meetings, as appropriate.
- Travel to collect field data, monitoring construction progress, participation at plan in hand reviews, client meetings, and public hearings or interview presentations.
- Provide input into the preparation of proposals, budgets, and schedules for new project opportunities
