Job Purpose
Perform routine, preventive, and emergency repairs on building and grounds, laboratory, and manufacturing equipment to ensure on-time delivery of quality products to customers and to preserve investment in the facility and the grounds.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyzes mechanical issues on assigned equipment. Makes necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain maximum production efficiency and quality. Tests equipment operation after repairs or installations is completed and notifies necessary persons of equipment operational status. Assists with new equipment installations as needed.
- Performs preventive/predictive maintenance on assigned equipment by visually inspecting, greasing, testing safety switches, recording critical information, oil analysis etc. and reporting adverse findings to the Maintenance Manager. To maximize equipment up-time, potential problems should be identified and either repaired immediately or scheduled for repairs to eliminate breakdowns during operation.
- Performs minor repairs on roofing systems, flooring, concrete, drywall repair and painting. Repairs, and replaces lighting, process, pneumatic, and water piping (potable and fire protection). Moves furniture, miscellaneous boxes and files as required. Assists with inventory management and keeps storerooms and shop neat and clean. Snow removal and salting of parking lots and walkways.
- Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, reporting any concerns which may have an adverse impact on health, safety and the environment. Attends scheduled safety meetings. Maintains a neat, clean and safe work areaCorrects or notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions.
- Adheres to site security policies. Performs repairs on perimeter security gates, fences and air compressor alarms. Assists with the repair of alarm switches, wiring and cameras. and the testing of the fire alarm system flow switches, pull stations, and deluge systems.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Vocational or technical training will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Experience in building repair and grounds maintenance to include carpentry, plumbing, pipefitting and related operations. Welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and comprehend equipment repair manuals, standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Proficient in the safe use of a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, gauges, micrometers etc.), and power tools (table saw, cut off saw, bench grinders, sanders, routers etc.).
- Basic computer/technology skills.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity with the ability to lift 55 pounds.
- Must be able to stand or walk for periods of eight to twelve hours.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to use ladders, hoists, industrial trucks and material handling equipment.
- Must have the ability to wear a breathing apparatus and other associated personal protective equipment.
Total Compensation
The salary range for these skills is $55,000 - $60,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future. This position is eligible for overtime.
