Job description

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Production Technician to join our team at our facility located in Oak Creek, WI. The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be to perform quality validation testing on all Nordco equipment, ensuring that it meets the customer’s specifications and delivery requirements. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to carry out troubleshooting sequences to identify any non-conformance issues and communicate the necessary repairs. Furthermore, the technician will be required to write reports as necessary and may need to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.

· Analyze and diagnose (troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures

· Repair and replace any faulty equipment as needed

· Provide clear communication to customers and Wabtec management on work to be performed, equipment status, productivity, and process improvements

· Work with management to promote, maintain, and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices while monitoring productivity, quality assurance, and adherence to contract requirements.

· Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry / site specific work rules

· Work with management on establishing production plans for labor, material, and logistics

· Work with various software systems to manage material, labor plans, and other systemic requirements

· Determine correct parts, order and complete task in a timely manner, as well as, returning all unused parts in a timely manner

Qualifications/Requirements

· 5-years of mechanical experience with emphasis on heavy equipment

· Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system experience in the use of heavy equipment

· Ability to read and understand schematics and technical documentation

· Willingness and ability to work various shifts, various days/ willingness and ability to work in shop and field environment

Working Conditions

Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend, work underneath equipment, reach above shoulders, and climb.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Salary info:

$26 - $30 / hr
