Southeast Behavioral Hospital
Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional, and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Cape Girardeau region has long been an area of vibrant commerce and abundance, with significant roots in agriculture and trading posts which produced generations of people full of pride and a determination to put in a hard day’s work. QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Account Representative/Financial Counselor is responsible for submittal of electronic and manual billings, account statements, and for follow-up with third-party payers and patients for outstanding balances. This position is also responsible for financial assessment of patients, determination of ability to pay, collection of deposits, negotiation of payment arrangements, securing financing of self-pay liability, identification of funding sources; some tracking, monitoring and reporting requirements. Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education : High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in insurance billing and CPT coding is preferred. Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital business office is required. Experience with billing, computers, and business software programs preferred.
Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
