1922 : In Brooklyn, Max and Clara Fortunoff embarked on a retail journey that would redefine community shopping. They began their journey in Brooklyn, New York, with a simple pushcart of pots and pans and then opened the doors to their neighborhood housewares store, distinguishing themselves with a unique retail approach. Their store was not just a shopping destination but a testament to their commitment to quality and customer service. They offered an extensive selection of high-quality merchandise, provided by knowledgeable and attentive sales associates. Their dedication to delivering remarkable value to their customers quickly set them apart, marking the beginning of a legacy in the retail industry and what would lead eventually to the inception of Fortunoff Backyard Store.

2024:  We are now the nations largest specialty retailer for outdoor home furnishings with furniture showrooms throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware.   As we prepare to open our doors in Virginia we are looking for passionate Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Sales Associates to join our team and continue our legacy of excellence.
