Job description
Equix is a privately held construction firm that develops companies and professionals in the technical and construction services industries across the country. Equix performs a variety of utility and infrastructure projects offering full-service surveying, design, construction, and maintenance services to the broadband, electric, oil and gas, heavy civil, pipeline, renewable energy, water and wastewater markets. We have a current opening for a full-time Benefits Coordinator that will assist the HR Benefits team with administration of online enrollments, FMLA tracking, run various reports, assist in health and wellness events, and other benefit-related tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with administration of group health, dental, vision, life, flexible spending, 401(k) programs including enrollments, life event changes and terminations
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the benefit functions and duties
- Provide support with annual 1095 reporting including reviewing, auditing, and correcting information as appropriate
- Support annual audits of the benefits plans census data
- Process and track employee leave of absence paperwork (FMLA, STD, etc.)
- Support data requests and analysis related to adhoc business requests
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to benefits (medical support orders, termination of benefits forms, invoices, etc.)
- Coordinate benefits projects (meetings, trainings, surveys etc.) and summarize task lists
- Process employee benefit claims for life insurance and disability benefits with the various vendors
- Monitor and review deductions and liabilities
- Overseeing the reconciliation of health plan eligibility reports
- Maintaining employee confidential benefit files
- Expand and maintain knowledge of changing regulations and topics that relate to benefits
- Audit weekly EDI files and correct errors as appropriate, working with vendors as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Monitor and maintain company paid time off plans
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required, Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1-2 years of prior experience in an administrative role is required, experience specifically supporting the benefits function is preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment with exceptional customer service skills and a high degree of professionalism
- Communicate effectively with various levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational skills, exceptional follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining efficiency of work
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word
- You are flexible and creative, comfortable with ambiguity, organized and detail-oriented
