A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A FULL-TIME OUTPATIENT COUNSELOR:

Your days will be filled with purpose as you provide a lifeline to individuals seeking support for mental health and well-being. Your role involves conducting individual and group counseling sessions, assessing client progress, and developing personalized treatment plans. You'll be the guiding light, helping clients navigate the path to recovery and resilience. Collaborating with a diverse team of professionals and liaising with various service providers will be your daily norm, ensuring comprehensive care and support for clients of all ages and their families.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS A FULL-TIME OUTPATIENT COUNSELOR:

• Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology)
• Experience in the community setting, especially with adults dealing with alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid mental health problems
• Strong counseling skills with an understanding of psychotropic medications or related experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Compassion, empathy, and a client-centered approach
