How you contribute to our success The Navigate User Experience Designer leads the User Experience (UX) of our client-facing platform. This role is critical to our ability to Do Good Things for others by using design to improve their wellbeing. You are responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders, product managers, software engineers, and senior leadership to build a user experience that is pragmatic, user-centered, informed by data, and joyful.
You are also responsible for designing our client user experience in the web platform, mobile applications, and digital and print communications.
Your Responsibilities to the team, our clients and community - Create innovate solutions for a variety of product design challenges including web platform, mobile, app and print
- Lead the ongoing design and redesign of existing experiences
- Plan and define strategy for the user experience of the platform
- Iterate on design solutions and plan details
- Advocate for design solutions to behavior change challenges, meet business and user goals
- Focus on demographic and usage data, combined with usability research findings
- Develop high level mock-ups and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
- Deliver work that is user-friendly, engaging and produces results
- Work alongside software engineers and business IT professionals to support the SDLC
- Optimize the performance of platform and product features by assessing performance metrics
- Develops and maintains a detailed UX playbook
- Present design work to key stakeholders and the leadership team for review and feedback
- Creation of HTML email communications to support our various products
- Demonstrate the Navigate Way in your daily work and interactions with team members, clients and the community
- Contribute to project teams as assigned
- Other duties needed to serve our company, clients and community
Qualifications and Skills - Strong knowledge of usability principles
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
- Experience working together with a software development team
- Fluency in web-based information architecture and design principals
- Experience in an agile working environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced small-business environment
- Experience redesigning and maintaining design aesthetics for an enterprise platform
- Experience with HTML and email development
Experience & Education needed for success in this role - Bachelor’s degree in design, user experience or something similar
- At least three years’ experience designing user experiences
- Portfolio of work demonstrating experience with user-centric design
- Demonstrable experience with design and user experience for web, mobile, app and print solutions
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, the Office suite, and design prototyping or mock-ups solutions
- Experience with HMTL and email creation
- Experience with utilizing data to develop user-centric designs
