Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Setup Operator, your responsibilities include:
Safety: Prioritize safety by adhering to all safe work procedures and general plant rules while performing your duties.
Die Setup: Skillfully assemble, install, and align dies in the press according to specification to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Ram Adjustment: Make precise adjustments to the press's ram to meet specified lengths, maintaining product quality.
Material Handling: Expertly feed steel to the die using the straightener, making necessary adjustments for seamless production.
Quality Control: Contribute to our commitment to quality by submitting the first-off sample to the Quality Assurance (QA) department for approval.
Press Adjustment: If required, skillfully adjust the press to meet the exact blueprint specifications, ensuring top-notch production.
Measurement and Monitoring: Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and gauges to perform basic measurements and monitoring, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
Other Duties: Be prepared to take on additional responsibilities as required to meet the changing needs of the job and the company.
Qualifications:
To excel as a Setup Operator, you should possess the following minimum requirements, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Alternatively, one to three months of related experience and/or training will be considered.
An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
Skills and Abilities:
As a Setup Operator, you should have the following skills and abilities:
Comprehension/Communication Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
The ability to complete production reports.
Ability to use and interpret measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
A basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Mathematical Skills:
Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
Competency in reading and understanding blueprints.
Reasoning Ability:
The capability to understand and follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
