Job Description:

Anthem Winery is a family-owned boutique producer of ultra-premium wines located in the Mt. Veeder AVA, Napa Valley. We seek a Special Event Host to educate customers about our wines at 10-12 off-site events per year in the San Francisco Bay Area on an as needed basis. Some event examples include: charity events, wine festivals, country club tastings, restaurant staff trainings, and winery spotlight tastings. Most events take place on weekends and evenings, and the host will serve as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong communication skills, wine knowledge and the ability to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•  Represent Anthem Winery at 10-12 events per year on weekends or evenings
•  Educate customers and consumers through professional, effective communication about the history of the winery, unique aspects of the wines, winemaking technique, and AVAs
•  Assist with event setup and cleanup of designated table/booth
•  Ensure marketing materials are displayed in a clean, appealing way
•  Sell wine and acquire new wine club members at events (when permitted) and promote newsletter signup
•  Host pre-shift staff trainings at restaurant accounts throughout the Bay Area
•  Accurately track and report quantities of each wine poured at events
•  Perform other duties as assigned by management based on the business needs

QUALIFICATIONS
•  Minimum 1 year of wine industry or hospitality experience, preferably in wine sales
•  Resides in San Francisco Bay Area
•  At least 21 years of age
•  Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds without strain
•  Ability to stand on hard surface, to be on feet, walking for extended period
•  Able to work evenings and weekend events (10-12 events per year)
•  Able to pass thorough background check
•  Resides in San Francisco Bay Area
•  Valid CA driver’s license, clean DMV record, and automobile insurance
•  Professional and welcoming customer service skills and demeanor
•  Passion for and knowledge of wine and viticulture
•  Responsible Beverage Server certification completed

COMPENSATION
$25/hour + wine club signup bonus
